A Solstice and Christmas Reflection
Birthing the Light
This morning, as I entered my sacred practice, I was enveloped by the stillness of the darkness. The soft rain outside felt like quiet whispers, as though the Divine Mother herself was washing over the land and her children, blessing each moment of this holy season. Lighting my candles, their gentle glow pierced the darkness, reminding me of the light we seek and embody during this time. There, in the quiet intimacy of the moment, I felt the presence of something ancient and eternal, a call to reflect, to prepare, to receive.
This season holds profound significance across spiritual traditions. The Winter Solstice, Advent, Christmas and Hanukkah all celebrate the birth of light amidst the darkness. Each tradition, in its unique way, invites us to open our hearts to the illumination of the soul, the awakening of divine guidance, and the sacred renewal of life. Our ancestors understood this deeply, preparing themselves for the reception of the light, knowing that even their physical bodies were being prepared for an upgrade, an infusion of divine energy to carry them into a new cycle.
The Winter Solstice, the longest night of the year, marks the turning point where the light begins its slow and steady return. In the stillness of the Solstice, our ancestors would gather, lighting fires and candles, honoring the rebirth of the Sun and the promise of renewal. The darkness was not feared but embraced, a sacred womb from which light would emerge. They understood that just as the Earth rests and renews herself, so must we prepare our inner soil to receive the seeds of divine light.
In the Christian tradition, Advent mirrors this sacred preparation. The four weeks leading up to Christmas invite us to journey inward, to align with the hope, peace, joy, and love that the Christ light brings into the world. It is a time of expectation, a holy pause before the celebration of divine incarnation, the birth of Yeshua, the Christ.
Similarly, Hanukkah, the Festival of Lights, celebrates the miraculous endurance of light. The menorah, burning brightly for eight days, reminds us of the divine miracles that sustain us even in times of scarcity. This year, the first day of Hanukkah falls on Christmas Day, merging two profound celebrations of light and miracles. It is as if the heavens themselves are aligning to offer us an extraordinary opportunity to receive blessings and illumination.
As we move from Christmas Day into the 12 Days of Holy Christmas, we enter a sacred journey through the zodiacal frequencies, each day aligned with one of the Aramaic-Hebrew letters of creation. These letters, powerful cosmic vibrations, shaped the fabric of the universe and continue to guide us in our own co-creation with the Divine. The 12 stars above Mother Mary’s head, as depicted in sacred iconography, symbolize these days as Creation Portals, lovingly guided by her divine presence. Each day offers a unique frequency to integrate, inviting us to align with the divine archetypes that flow through the zodiac, bringing balance and harmony to our lives.
In this mystical dance of stars and letters, we are reminded of our own divinity. We are not merely observers of the cosmos; we are participants, co-creators of the divine story unfolding within and around us. Mother Mary, the eternal guide of compassion and wisdom, walks with us during these days, helping us birth new light within ourselves and the world.
This year, as Christmas and Hanukkah converge, we stand at a powerful threshold. The blessings and miracles available to us are magnified, inviting us to step into a new level of consciousness and grace. The sacred season calls us to honor the light within, to recognize its source in the Divine, and to carry it forward as a beacon of hope, love, and transformation.
As St. Teresa of Ávila so beautifully reminds us:
“Let nothing disturb you, let nothing frighten you. All things pass away: God never changes. Patience obtains all things. Those who have God lack nothing; God alone suffices.”
Her words echo the stillness and trust we are invited to embody during this holy season, as we prepare to receive the light of miracles and renewal.
As we prepare to enter 2025, a year number 9, we are reminded of the energy of completion and fulfillment. This is a year to honor all that we have cultivated, to release what no longer serves us, and to embrace the new cycle with courage and trust.
I am wishing all of you a sacred season of light, filled with divine blessings and miracles. May this time of holy reflection and celebration prepare us to step into the new year with open hearts, clarity, and purpose. Thank you for being part of this beautiful community. Together, we illuminate the world.
Invocation to the Light
Beloved Light, eternal and ever-present, we turn to you now in this sacred season, a time of Solstice, Christmas, and Hanukkah, when the darkness cradles the birth of your brilliance. In the stillness of the longest night, as the Earth whispers her ancient song, we feel your promise stirring within us, calling us to awaken, to rise, to remember.
We invoke you, Divine Radiance, the Source from which all creation flows. Descend into our hearts as a golden stream of renewal. Bring light to the shadows that long to be embraced and transformed by your gentle grace. Let your light fill us with miracles, blessings, and the sacred knowing of our divine purpose.
We call upon the holy presence of Mother Mary, she who carries the cosmic light within her womb, the Queen crowned with the stars of Creation. Guide us through these portals of divine renewal, as you lovingly birthed the Christ light into the world. May your compassion cradle us as we move through the mysteries of life, death, and rebirth.
We summon Yeshua, the Christ, the radiant heart of divine love and sacred union. Walk with us as you once walked the Earth, showing the way of peace, of forgiveness, and the eternal promise of light within the darkness. May your presence infuse us with courage, clarity, and the trust that we too are bearers of this light.
We invite Mary Magdalene, she who anoints the sacred, the keeper of the mysteries of the Bridal Chamber. Pour your wisdom into our hearts. Teach us to embody the divine union of spirit and matter, to awaken the alchemy of light within us, and to walk the path of truth and sovereignty.
Angelic beings, luminous guardians of heaven’s gates, we call upon your celestial presence. Surround us with your wings of light, guiding us through this holy time. Bring forth blessings from the unseen realms, gifts of protection, healing, and divine alignment. Let your song fill the spaces between us, reminding us that we are never alone.
Sacred ancestors, who prepared the way for this light, and those yet to come who will carry it forward, we honor you. We feel your prayers, protection, guidance and presence. May your wisdom guide our steps as we walk in the beauty of this divine unfolding.
As Christmas and Hanukkah converge, and as the Solstice heralds the return of the Sun, we stand in the holy convergence of time and eternity. We recognize this moment as a creation portal, where the 12 stars of divine frequency align above us, vibrating with the sacred letters of the cosmos. We step into this current of creation, inviting its blessings to flow through us and into the world.
Light of all lights, Eternal One, we open ourselves fully to your presence. Enter every space within us that yearns for healing, every shadow that awaits transformation, every dream that seeks fulfillment. Bathe us in your radiance, that we may become vessels of your love, pouring it forth into a world hungry for hope and renewal.
And as we stand on the threshold of a new year, we ask: Bless our journey, bless our community, bless the Earth. Let miracles unfold in ways unseen, let renewal spring forth in every heart, and may your light guide us always, illuminating the path before us.
