Dance was my first true prayer.

Before anything mystical revealed itself in my life, there was movement. Movement was the way I listened, the way I felt, the way I entered into relationship with something greater than myself. Through the body, I found a language that did not require words—a direct, living connection to the sacred.

As a child trained in the discipline of dance, each gesture, each rhythm, each repetition became a doorway into presence. It was through movement that I first experienced what I would later come to understand as prayer—not something spoken, but something embodied.

Yoga entered my life as a natural continuation of this path. It was never something separate from movement, but a deepening of it. I approached it as a devotion to becoming a lifelong student of the Divine—one who learns through the body, through breath, through awareness.

For this reason, these sacred practices form the heart of the Desert Rose Mystery School. I hold a deep knowing that movement is prayer—that through the body we remember, we realign, and we return to what is essential.

The practices I offer are not rooted in expectation or performance. I have walked through traditions where meditation and practice were approached with a goal, an outcome to achieve. What I share arises from a different place—one of devotion, of presence, and of integration. It is a path that honors the wisdom of many traditions, allowing them to meet within the body as a living experience rather than a fixed form.

At their core, these practices are both sacred and practical. They invite a devotional relationship with the Divine, while also supporting the body as a vessel—bringing balance, health, and coherence to the nervous system and to the whole being.

To this day, everything I share and transmit is rooted in this foundation. Movement remains central—woven together with embodiment, sacred practices, and sound. It is through movement that the teachings come alive, that the body becomes a vessel, and that awakening is not only understood, but lived.

After completing my Master’s degree in Creative Expression, I spent time in Granada, immersing myself in the traditions of Flamenco within the gypsy communities of the Sacromonte. It was there, through the body, through rhythm, through contact with the earth, that something began to transform. I came to understand that grief is not something to overcome, but something that can be alchemized. Through movement and presence, I experienced that our connection with those who have passed is not only a distant or abstract bond, but something that remains alive within the body, within memory, and within the fabric of our lived experience.

Following this period, I returned to Madrid and began working in a Jewish school. Immersed in Hebrew chants and prayer, something within me began to deepen and reorganize. During this time, I received a vision of what I now understand as Sarah Tamar—the frequency of Divine Union of Magdalene and Christ. It was not something I had studied or encountered before, but rather a direct inner knowing, a transmission that carried both clarity and presence.

Within that experience, I was shown, in a very grounded and embodied way, the possibility of a life yet to unfold. I perceived the essence of a child who would come through me—not as a fixed image, but as a felt sense of being, of character, of soul.

Shortly after, I met her father, a Scotsman whose lineage and presence resonated deeply with my own. There was a natural recognition, a meeting that felt both human and archetypal, where love unfolded with simplicity and depth. Through that union, our daughter, Almudena, was born.

I spent many formative years living and working in the Middle East, with the privilege of being immersed in places such as Cairo, Kuwait, and Dubai. These lands, rich in history and devotion, offered me a direct encounter with the spiritual depth that lives within the traditions of the desert.

Egypt, in particular, held a profound significance. It was there that my relationship with embodied prayer began to take shape—through the practice of the Lord’s Prayer in Aramaic, woven with movement and breath. In that landscape, I came to recognize the shared mystical thread that runs through Sufism, Judaism, and Christianity—a wisdom that reveals itself not through doctrine, but through presence, when one learns to see with the inner eye.

During this time, my academic work deepened alongside my lived experience. My research, centered on dance as prayer, allowed me to explore movement as a sacred language—one that transcends culture and speaks directly to the soul. Through encounters with various mystical traditions, my understanding of embodiment, sound, and devotion began to integrate into a unified path.

Motherhood became an essential part of this unfolding. It grounded my spiritual life into the immediacy of care, presence, and relationship, revealing that the sacred is not separate from daily life, but is lived through it. In this way, spirituality became not only something experienced in moments of depth, but something expressed through the continuity of being.

Toward the end of my time in the Middle East, I entered a period of profound inner transition that led me into pilgrimage and reflection. It was within the silence of the desert that a deeper clarity emerged, alongside a powerful mystical experience—a visitation of Mary Magdalene that marked a turning point in my inner life. I recognized it as one of the most significant experiences I had received, and at the same time, I understood that its depth would require time, integration, and lived embodiment.

From that space of stillness and revelation came a clear call to return to Spain, to my ancestral land, and to begin a new chapter rooted in integration.

This return marked the beginning of a path that is no longer centered on seeking, but on embodying—allowing the teachings of movement, sound, and devotion to become lived experience, and to be shared through the work I now offer.

This vision led to the creation of The Desert Rose Mystery School,

a space where the foundation of my life—prayer, practice, and creativity—came together as a path of spiritual education and awakening.

In its early expression, this work was held under the name of the Mary Magdalene Mystery School. Yet over time, it became clear that what I was transmitting was not limited to a single figure or lineage, but to a living frequency—one that Mary Magdalene and Yeshua both embodied.

This is what I now call the Magdalene–Christos frequency.

It is the frequency of Divine Union.

Not only the honoring of sacred lineages or high holy teachers who walked before us, but the direct experience of that consciousness as something alive, present, and accessible within us. A frequency that can be felt, embodied, and expressed through the human form.

While my work is deeply rooted in the Magdalene stream, it is not confined to it. The essence of what I teach is the integration of this frequency into all aspects of life—through sound, movement, prayer, and presence.

My relationship with Aramaic deepened significantly during this time. Although I had studied Aramaic during my university years, it was later in life that I truly entered into its living transmission. Through the study of the Gospels in their Aramaic origin, I came into a more intimate understanding of the teachings of Yeshua—not as doctrine, but as vibration, as breath, as embodied wisdom.

Through this lens, both Yeshua and Mary Magdalene revealed themselves to me not only as historical beings, but as expressions of a unified field of consciousness—the Magdalene–Christos frequency—where Divine Love becomes lived experience.

This understanding naturally expanded into the body of work I now offer, which includes Aramaic chanting and prayer, movement and dance as sacred practice, sound and drumming, Kabbalistic astrology, and the Dances of Universal Peace. Each of these pathways serves as a gateway into embodiment.

Because this path is not about belief.

It is not about adopting a system or placing one tradition above another.

It is about awakening to a state of being in which the body becomes a vessel of presence, where the sacred is no longer something we seek outside of ourselves, but something we live, breathe, and express.

In this sense, the teachings of Yeshua are not exclusive—they are inclusive. They do not separate, but unify. They point toward a consciousness that transcends division, revealing that the Divine can be encountered through many forms, yet remains One in essence.

The Desert Rose Mystery School was born from this understanding.

A space devoted to embodiment, to devotion, and to the integration of the sacred into lived experience.

Practice.

The Commitement to show up for myself and others.
Creativity

Connecting with the creative channel, with creation, is connection with Divine, as we are creation creating infinitely.
Prayer

A consecrated devotion where life is the altar.
Thank you to all of my teachers.

Along this path, I have come to understand the sacred role of the teacher.

A teacher does not need to be grand or widely recognized. Sometimes, the most profound teachings are transmitted quietly—through presence, through a single sentence, through the way someone lives their life. To be guided, even for a moment, is a gift. It is something I hold with deep reverence.

I would like to take this moment to honor all of the teachers who have been part of my journey—those who have walked alongside me and those who, in passing, offered wisdom that stayed. Each one has contributed, in their own way, to the unfolding of my path, and for that I am deeply grateful.

I especially wish to give thanks to my greatest teachers.

My mother, who showed me the path of devotion—not as an idea, but as a lived experience. Through her, I came to understand compassion, generosity, and what it truly means to walk a spiritual path with sincerity.

My father, who believed in me and in my ability to express myself through writing long before I could fully see it. His trust planted a seed that revealed itself over time, and continues to live through all that I create.

And my daughter, who teaches me the importance of balance. Through her presence, I am reminded to stay grounded, to remain in harmony, and to honor the simplicity and beauty of life as it is.

I also wish to express my deepest gratitude to all of the students and the beautiful souls who are part of The Desert Rose Mystery School—those who come for trainings, for the Magdalene–Christos Shabbats, for community gatherings, and all of you who support this work through social media and my YouTube channel.

I learn so much from you.

You remind me of the importance of staying devoted to this path, of honoring the responsibility of transmitting these teachings with integrity, and of continuing to integrate them deeply within myself so that what I share is lived, not only spoken.

Your openness teaches me that I, too, can remain open—to receive, to soften, and to be in relationship with the flow of life.

And in that exchange, I recognize how much I am also receiving from all of you—through your presence, your trust, and the shared field we continue to co-create together.

If I were to describe myself in a few words, I would say: teacher and artist.

Teaching has been a constant thread throughout my life—from my early years, to working within schools, guiding children for many years, and later working with adults, to now holding and transmitting within my own school. Through this path, I have come to understand the depth of responsibility that a teacher carries.

To teach is not simply to share what we know.

It is to become a vessel through which wisdom can move—so that it may be received with grace, with openness, and with blessing. And when it is truly received, it does not remain the same—it expands, it deepens, it continues to generate new life.

This, to me, is the true role of the teacher.

And for this, I thank all of you—for trusting me, and for allowing me to walk alongside you as a guide.

The word “creativity” comes from the Latin word creare, which means “to create”, therefore, by definition, creativity is the ability to transcend the conventional and existing concepts, patterns, and relationships, in order to bring something new into the tangible form or in the form of ideas. Creativity is the act of creating something new for yourself and/or for society.

For Creativity to be the force that drives us to create our lives as a work of art in a conscious way, it is necessary to claim our power and make it ours. Our Power is always awake, as a “program” it is always running through us, but most of the time we do not know it so we allow our power to take over us. When we do not claim our power, it aligns with the force of our programs, fears, and patterns, and becomes so strong that our lives are a reflection of the manifestation of our unconscious power. The moment we decide to EMPOWER ourselves, to be in our POWER, to claim our POWER, is when all those obsolete programs cease to have force. SACRED CREATIVITY is born as the impulse that leads us to live as CO-CREATORS and CREATORS and we begin to manifest our dreams.

All trainings at The Desert Rose Mystery School are fully accredited by the International Practitioners of Holistic Medicine. Additionally, our Dance Movement Therapy and Ahava Sacred Dance Trainings hold accreditation from CID UNESCO.

Conversations with Mary Magdalene
by Ana Otero

When you move the body, your personal river of energy begins to flow, and clarity and inspiration are the orders of the day. That is why I believe that the practice of movement – dance is inseparable from the true creative pulse. Mary Magdalene wants us to be creative in order to bring our destiny to the world. We should not look at others and compare ourselves because each person brings their gifts to the world and to claim and appreciate these gifts, creativity is the way. At the same time, when we connect with the creative channel, there is an absence of EGO in that moment of creativity. The more we cultivate practices where there is an absence of the EGO, the more karma we release.

I opened The Desert Rose Mystery School® in 2014 guided by Mary Magdalene. She has guided me in the teachings of different techniques in order to create a spiritual school that would follow the teachings of Mary Magdalene and Yeshua and the Desert Rose Teachings. Through in-depth study of Hebrew Mysticism, Egyptian Mysticism, Aramaic, Alaha Shela , Shekhinah Mysteries, Light Language, Hathor – Venus Lineage, Hindu Philosophy, Yogic Science, Kabbalah, Astrology, Numerology, Sacred Essential Oils, Sacred Dance, Movement Therapy, Gnosticism, the Path of the Divine Feminine and the Gnostic Gospels, we have been able to create a school and we continue to create a school that resembles and is aligned with the teachings of Mary Magdalene, Yeshua and the Desert Mystics.

Ode to the Black Madonna

In the void of my silence, hiding myself from the light of the world.
Illuminated by the moon and by the stars.
Away from the eyes of what seems to be.
Dark night, take me into the velvet embrace of the Black Madonna.
Goddess, Almighty Mother. Protect me in your arms.
Look at me with your shiny dark face.
Look at me as I am, as I have been, as I will be.
In your emptiness, the past and the future are one.
Invisible, unheard of, and hidden by light, things are seen in my dark night.
Guide me and help me find the way.
You who know me, take me to who I really am.

A call for compassion
Divine Mother
In these times of chaos
When all sentient beings and nature herself
Face death and resurrection
Fill us with the splendor of your passionate enlightenment
Burn us with your sacred fires
And bring into re-membering our being
Infuse our bodies, hearts, souls and minds
With the calm of your infinite embrace
Infuse us with the remembrance of our sacred marriage, the union between the masculine and feminine from which in each of us the Divine Child is born
The child that is your flesh, your heart, your light, your breath.
The Child that is free from dogma, shame and separation.
Birth us to be free and to be love
Free to play in love
Free to serve in love
As love and for love
Divine mother, teach us in this hour of apocalypse the appropriate action
that heals
preserves
redeems and transforms
