Day Three of Hanukkah
A Reflection on Trinity, Wholeness, and Creation
On this sacred third day of Hanukkah, we honor the Trinity—the triad of existence that bridges heaven and earth. The mystical teachings reveal that one and one do not simply make two, nor do they dissolve into a singular Oneness. Instead, one and one create three. This profound truth teaches us that the essence of each side, fully present and whole, unites to create something entirely new.
In the light of this teaching, we see that creation does not demand that we nullify ourselves or relinquish who we are. True unity arises when we bring the totality of our being—all of our experiences, our joy and pain, our chaos and order—into relationship, creation, and connection. Transformation may alter the shape or expression of what we create, but it does not require the diminishment of our essence.
I am reminded of a moment early in my journey, a year after receiving my first apparition of Mary Magdalene. She asked me to leave behind everything I knew to share her teachings and create a school. I struggled, feeling torn between becoming something entirely new or remaining rooted in the person I already was. In deep prayer, I surrendered to her guidance and asked, “Why isn’t anything happening?” Her response was a teaching I have taken fully into my life:
“I do not ask you to leave yourself behind. I want you—all of you. Your essence, your experiences, your chaos, pain, and joy—to deliver these teachings. That is where the power lies.”
On this Shabbat day, as we light the third Hanukkah candle, celebrate the birth of Christ, and step into the unfolding of a new year, let us embody this profound wisdom. Let us honor the beauty and completeness of who we are and bring it into everything we create—into our work, relationships, and sacred practices. The totality of who we are is the gift we offer to the world, and it is through this wholeness that divine light flows.
Shabbat Shalom to all of you. May we continue to receive the blessings of the light and embrace the sacred essence of our being as we journey forward into creation and connection.
