The Womb that Says Yes
The Mystery of the Annunciation
There is a moment when time holds its breath.
It comes quietly, like a soft breath through the veil. A pause in the infinite spiral of becoming. A seed planted not in the soil of the earth, but in the womb of a woman , in the silent garden of the heart.
The Feast of the Annunciation, March 25th, marks this holy moment. Not just as a liturgical remembrance, but as a mystical event that still unfolds within us. This is not only the story of Mary, the Virgin, but the story of how Spirit enters matter, how the Divine enters the feminine, how Light becomes flesh.
Far from the temples and the noise, the angel Gabriel arrives. He does not thunder. He announces. The breath of the Holy whispers through him: You will conceive and bear a child. He will be called the Son of the Most High. The Holy Spirit will overshadow you.
And Mary , young, open, wildly courageous, does not ask how she can escape. She asks how this can be. She listens. She breathes. And then, with a full-bodied surrender, she speaks the most sacred words a soul can utter:
Hineni. Let it be done unto me according to your word.
In that moment, something shifts in the cosmos. Not just a conception, but a portal opens. The Divine Word descends into flesh , not by force, but by invitation. By a woman’s yes. This is the mystery of the Annunciation: that God waits for the womb to open. That the Infinite longs for partnership with the finite.
Mary becomes more than a mother. She becomes the Chalice, the Ark of the New Covenant, the first Bridal Chamber where Spirit and matter unite in holy love. And her yes is not passive. It is not meek. It is fierce receptivity. It is the spiritual authority of the Feminine when she stands in alignment with the Divine.
The mystics have always known that this moment is not bound to history. It is alive. It repeats itself in every soul who dares to open, to listen, to become the vessel through which love is born again.
The timing of this feast is not accidental. It falls just after the Spring Equinox, as the Earth awakens and light begins to return. As the soil softens and seeds prepare to rise. On March 25th, Mary conceives the Light. And nine months later, on December 25th, the Light is born.
This is the sacred rhythm of the cosmos, not a line, but a spiral. Conception and birth. Descent and return. Silence and song.
There is another voice behind Mother Mary’s: the voice of the Magdalene. She too is a womb of revelation. She too carries the flame of divine love, not as mother but as Beloved, Priestess, and Witness. Together, Mary and Magdalene form the two petals of the Rose: one who conceives the Light, and one who bears witness to its resurrection. One who receives the Holy Spirit, and one who anoints the Risen Christ.
This mystery is not about them alone. It is about us. Today. Now.
The Annunciation is not just a consecrated historical moment. It is a cosmic invitation. It is the Divine knocking on the door of your womb (men and women), whether physical, energetic, or soul-deep , and asking, “Will you carry Me?”
Will you say yes to what you cannot understand?
Will you allow the Divine to take form through your body, your voice, your art, your truth?
Will you become the chalice?
This is the invitation: to become the womb that says yes.
And perhaps, this is what we are truly being asked to remember. That Light doesn’t crash into the world. It enters gently, through consent. Through silence. Through surrender. Through the body of a woman who dares to believe that the impossible can be born through her.
And so we light the candle. We anoint the heart.
We whisper Hineni : I am here, I surrender.
We wait for the breath of Gabriel.
And we open.
