The Voice of The Dove

The Voice of The Dove

Revelation in the Garden

In the sacred stillness of Shabbat, as the sun begins to lower and the gates of the celestial realms begin to open, the soul becomes attuned to the whisper of the Divine. This moment is so important for us in all levels, as when we enter the Bridal Chamber (and I truly believe that Yeshua referred to Shabbat as the Bridal Chamber), we have the infinite potential to upgrade every category of our life. We can also remove the stagnation and blocks and receive the SHEFA, the infinite flow of abundance.

Mary Magdalene, in her Gnostic portrayals, is the kalyptos,  the one who is veiled, hidden in mystery. Her name and essence hold the archetype of the one who bears concealed wisdom, waiting to be revealed to those who can see with the heart.

Her relationship with Yeshua was not solely one of devotion, but of deep mystical union. She heard the Word behind the words. She listened to the language of light. She became the vessel through which the Rucha (Spirit) spoke.

In the Gospel of Mary, it is Magdalene who comforts, teaches, and awakens the trembling disciples. She speaks not with authority of domination, but with authority born of intimacy. The dove had landed upon her. The garden had opened within her. And she became a voice for Sophia, divine Wisdom.

Kalyptos and Shelā: Veiled and Rested

The ancient Greek word kalyptos means veiled, covered, or hidden. It represents the mystery before the unveiling, the wisdom not yet revealed. Magdalene, as kalyptos, embodies the sacred feminine veiled in silence, the mystery waiting in the womb of time.

But the Aramaic word shelā (שלא) adds another layer. It means peace, rest, stillness, to be covered, to go within, to pray, and wholeness. It is the soul after the unveiling. It is the deep repose of the spirit once it has received revelation.

Magdalene is both:

  • Kalyptos: The hidden one, the keeper of mystery.
  • Shelā: The soul at rest in divine knowing, the stillness of the garden after the storm.

To walk the Magdalene path is to move from kalyptos to shelā, from veiling to revelation, from yearning to fulfillment, from concealment to radiant rest. When we walk the Magdalene Path of Shela, we walk in complete Certainty, knowing that we are always guided, held and sustained.

In both Kabbalah and early Christian mysticism, the garden is a symbol of the Inner Eden. It is the soul’s primordial origin and its final return, the sacred axis where divine presence meets human longing. Eden is a state of consciousness, an inner sanctuary hidden in the heart of the soul.

In the book of Genesis, the garden is where humanity walked with the Divine “in the cool of the day”, a phrase that in Hebrew, l’ruach hayom, can also mean “in the spirit of the day.” This is the moment of intimate encounter, of unguarded presence. The sages say that after exile, the entrance to Eden was veiled not to keep us out, but to guide us inward.

In the Song of Songs, the soul is described as a “locked garden,” a fountain sealed. This language evokes the deep inner sanctum of the heart, the place where divine love is hidden, waiting to be awakened. The mystics taught that the garden opens through devotion, stillness, and surrender. The gate to Eden responds only to the vibration of love and longing.

In Kabbalah, the garden is also associated with the Sefirah (Dimension) of Malkhut, the indwelling Shekhinah. She is the garden, the rose, the sanctuary where the higher lights descend. When we enter that inner space, whether through Shabbat, prayer, breath, or beauty, we are not escaping the world; we are re-entering the world as it truly is, bathed in divine radiance.

The Voice of the Dove is what the mystics called the bat kol,  the “daughter-voice,” the sacred echo that arises after the Divine has spoken. Unlike the thunder of Sinai or the commanding voice of kings, the bat kol is a feminine emanation of divine speech. It is the voice heard not in noise, but in silence.

In the Talmud and mystical literature, the bat kol is described as the voice of Shekhinah, the indwelling presence of God, especially when prophecy has seemingly ceased. But in truth, the bat kol is the continuation of revelation in a more intimate form,  the voice that speaks to the soul directly, often through symbols, intuition, dreams, poetry, and breath.

This is the Voice of the Dove. A vibration that hovers, like the Spirit over the waters in Genesis. It is a breath .. a knowing. It invites intimacy. It meets us in longing, in prayer, in the subtle spaces between words.

When we enter Shabbat with Magdalene consciousness, we do not seek to be taught by the mind alone. We seek to be touched by mystery. We do not wait for mere information; we wait for revelation. We soften the heart and turn the ear inward. For the bat kol, the voice of the Divine Feminine, speaks to the quiet sanctuary within.

To live Magdalene Shabbat is to return, again and again, to the garden. It is to open the senses to the Voice that comes not through intellect but through vibration. It is to let the Word be made flesh in our own body-temple. It is to feel the Divine Feminine Presence as breath, as beauty, as The Magdalene calling us back home.

For centuries, we have lived in separation:
Spirit divorced from body.
The masculine divorced from the feminine.
Wisdom divorced from presence.
Religion divorced from the mystical.

Society has imposed upon us a system of exile, telling us that our value lies in how much we produce, how loudly we speak, how visible we are in a hierarchy that has forgotten how to listen.

But the Voice of the Dove  calls us home, the True Home of Remembrance.

To live this truth is to restore the Sacred Marriage within:
The Magdalene and Yeshua in the soul.
The Tiferet and Malkhut in the Tree of Life.
The rose and the flame.

The Remembrance of who we truly are says:
I will no longer submit to the world’s expectations of who I should be.
I will no longer measure worth by noise and validation.
I will dwell in the garden.
I will speak from silence.
I will be a sanctuary where the Dove can rest.

This is how we become whole again.
This is how we remember we were never separate to begin with.
This is how we return to the Beloved, to ourselves, to Eden.

This Shabbat, may you walk with bare feet in the garden of your soul.  May you, like Magdalene, move from concealment to revelation, from fragmentation to complete unity.

Shabbat Blessings to all of you.
