We are the Revelation and the Prophecy
We are responsible of bringing the light to our darkness.
In the gentle embrace of Cheshvan – Scorpio, the month where the dark lengthens and the light dims, there is a profound stillness that invites us into the exploration of the light that we are here to shine. As I light my candle, I hold the intention of the flame symbolizing the eternal light within, reminding me of the enduring presence of the divine spark that guides us through the cycles of growth and retreat.
I have always had a fascination with the desert as portrayed in biblical narrative. So many times we get caught up in the stories that we have been taught and we forget to look at the symbolism behind these stories. Miriam’s well, a fountain of living waters and wisdom, emerges in my reflection as a vivid symbol. In this month the lower and higher waters of creation were parted, and within this cosmic division lies a deep yearning for unity, a longing mirrored in the human soul. This well, which sustained our ancestors in the desert with its endless waters, now invites us to drink deeply from our own spiritual reserves, to dive into the waters of wisdom that reside within us, revealing insights and truths long buried under the sediment of daily concerns.
The name “Miriam” carries the meaning of “bitterness,” which in spiritual terms transcends mere emotion to encompass themes of transformation, growth, and purification. This bitterness, emblematic of Miriam’s own trials, symbolizes the deep spiritual awakening, resilience, and perseverance necessary for personal evolution. In this month, the essence of Miriam’s Well serves as a profound metaphor for our own spiritual reservoirs. We are invited to delve into the depths of our being, to stir the still waters within, igniting the inner flame that guides us upward. By accessing this light, we create an internal warmth, transforming bitterness into a source of strength and enlightenment, channeling our highest potential.
I close my eyes, letting the stillness embrace me, calling on my Miriam´s Well, and in this sanctuary of solitude, I meet my soul. As I open my eyes, I again meet the light of the candle, a light that I intentionally lit, a deliberate act of illumination, a reminder that we must shine light upon our own shadows.
Mary Magdalene wrote about the inner journey in her Gospel. This journey is not a quiet retreat from the world but an active engagement with our deepest selves. She teaches that the silence of Cheshvan is an emptiness waiting for the birth of revelations.True mystical revelations challenge and expand our understanding of reality, pushing us beyond the boundaries of our conventional beliefs and into the realms of infinite possibility. The process of receiving mystical revelations often requires a surrendering of ego, as the ego’s resistance can obscure the clarity and truth of the insights being presented.
For many years, the concept of revelation eluded me; I imagined it as an overwhelming, awe-inspiring force. This perception was purely intellectual, assuming that revelations were external events. Over time, however, I came to understand that true revelations are born from within us. We carry hidden layers—our talents, wisdom, purpose, and boundless potential. It’s through the inward journey and the lifting of our own veils of concealment that these revelations naturally emerge, unfolding in their own right.
The stillness of Cheshvan is a sacred space for encountering revelations and our own prophecy. Here, in the quiet solitude, I am reminded that the longing for unity with the divine that we may experience is a sign of our inherent completeness. In every breath that draws from the well of wisdom, in every moment of silence that builds upon the last, we find the pathways that lead back to the heart of creation, to the unity of all things.
Every end is a beginning, and every silence is full of potential. As we continue in the cylce of Cheshvan – Scorpio, we are called to find peace in the presence of the infinite, to drink from our inner well, and to allow the waters of wisdom to flow freely through our lives.
