A Magdalene–Christos Ritual for the Lunar Eclipse in Pisces
The Moon Enters Shadow, Yet She Remains Whole
There are moments when the heavens mirror something that is taking place within us. A lunar eclipse is one of those moments. The Moon enters the shadow of the Earth. For a time, her light is obscured. And yet, beneath the shadow, the Moon remains whole.
This is perhaps one of the most beautiful teachings we can receive from an eclipse:
What is hidden has not disappeared.
What enters darkness has not lost its essence.
What we cannot see can still remain whole.
The lunar eclipse in Pisces invites us into the realm of water—into feeling, intuition, surrender, memory, dreams, and the unseen currents moving beneath the surface of our lives.
And within the Magdalene–Christos mysteries, water carries a profound significance.
The Magdalene is intimately connected with the Living Waters. She carries the mystery of receptivity, the sacred vessel, the womb, the heart, anointing, surrender, and remembrance. Hers is the consciousness that knows how to enter the depths and remain present there.
The Christos carries the mystery of the Living Flame—the Divine Light of consciousness awakening within the human being.
Water receives.
Fire illuminates.
Magdalene and Christos.
Vessel and Flame.
Receptivity and Presence.
And within us, these two sacred currents meet.
A Magdalene–Christos Eclipse Ritual
You will need only:
a bowl of water and a candle.
Find a quiet place where you can remain undisturbed for a few minutes.
Place the bowl of water before you and the candle beside it.
Take several slow breaths.
Allow yourself to arrive fully in your body.
1. Enter the Magdalene Waters
Place your hands around the bowl.
Feel the water beneath your palms as a symbol of the Living Waters—the waters that receive, cleanse, soften, and restore.
Ask yourself quietly:
What within me is ready to return to the Waters?
You do not need to force an answer.
Allow something to arise.
Perhaps it is an emotion you have carried for a long time.
Perhaps an attachment.
A fear.
An identity that has become too small.
A relationship with yourself that has completed its purpose.
A way of living that your soul is ready to outgrow.
When you feel ready, whisper into the water:
I surrender what has completed its journey within me.
I return it to the Living Waters with Love.
Repeat the Aramaic mantra Mayyā Ḥayyē ܡܝܐ ܚܝܐ several times, or allow yourself to chant it continuously for three minutes. Mayyā Ḥayyē means “Living Waters.”
As you chant, allow the vibration of the words to move through your body and into the water before you.
When you have finished, gently blow into the water three times. Feel your breath carrying the sacred sound and intention of the Aramaic mantra into the waters, activating them as a vessel for your prayer.

2. Remember the Christos Flame
Now light your candle.
Look gently into the flame.
And remember:
The Moon enters shadow, yet she remains whole.
There will be moments in our lives when we cannot see clearly.
There will be descents.
Endings.
Periods of uncertainty.
Moments when the identity we once knew begins to dissolve before the new one has fully emerged.
The Magdalene mysteries teach us how to remain present within these thresholds.
The eclipse reminds us that our wholeness is deeper than what we can perceive in any particular moment.
Place one hand over your heart.
Look into the flame and say:
The Light within me remains.
I remember who I am.
Allow yourself to feel those words rather than simply speak them.
3. Unite the Waters and the Flame
Place your left hand gently into the water.
Bring the palm of your right hand close enough to the candle flame to feel its warmth, always keeping a safe distance from the flame.
Close your eyes and become aware of these two elements at the same time: the coolness of the water touching your left hand and the warmth of the flame reaching the palm of your right hand.
As you breathe, imagine receiving the warmth and light of the Christos Flame through your right palm.
Feel it traveling through your right hand and arm, entering your heart and filling the sacred chamber of your heart with its light.
Then allow that light to continue through your left shoulder, down your left arm, through the palm of your left hand, and into the water.
Feel the water receiving the flame.
Remain here for several breaths, allowing yourself to become the living bridge between these two sacred elements.
Water receives.
Fire illuminates.
Within your heart, the Magdalene Waters and the Christos Flame meet.
And through your body, Water and Fire enter into sacred union.
The Two become One.
Say slowly:
I receive the Living Waters of the Magdalene.
I embody the Living Flame of the Christos.
I surrender into Love.
I rise in wholeness.
Remain in silence for several moments.
Allow yourself simply to receive.
When your ritual is complete, take the bowl of water outside and offer it back to the Earth.
The Eclipse as a Return to Wholeness
In Aramaic, the word ܫܠܡܐ — Shlama carries the resonance of peace, wholeness, completeness, and well-being.
And this is the consciousness I invite you to carry through this eclipse.
Not a peace dependent upon circumstances.
A peace born from inner wholeness.
The Magdalene teaches us to enter the Waters.
The Christos reminds us of the Flame.
And somewhere within their sacred union, we remember ourselves.
The Moon enters shadow, yet she remains whole.
And so do you.
May this eclipse return you more deeply to your heart.
May the Waters receive what is complete.
May the Flame illuminate what is ready to emerge.
May you walk forward more open, more surrendered, and more deeply rooted in Love.
