From Silence to Prophecy
Walking the Path of the Mystics
Today, as I reflect on the division and suffering in our world, I asked Alaha, the Magdalene, the angels, the Cosmic Intelligence for guidance. The words of the Spanish mystic Abraham Abulafia came alive in me:
“The beginning of wisdom is silence, and the end of silence is prophecy.”
Silence is the womb where revelation is conceived.
Abulafia, a 13th-century Spanish Kabbalist, taught that when we quiet the noise of the mind through breath, sacred sound, and prayer, something greater can be heard: the whisper of the Divine. He called this prophetic Kabbalah, which has nothing to do with predicting the future, but about receiving a clear message from Source that brings healing, clarity, and direction.
Yeshua himself often withdrew into silence: into the desert, the mountains, or the garden at night. In stillness he aligned with the Beloved and returned carrying words of fire and compassion. Mary Magdalene also lived this path. She turned her whole being toward the Light of Christ, like the moon turning to the sun, and in that turning she became radiant. Her silence was never empty, it was the space where love spoke, where revelation flowed.
Prophecy is what happens when the heart is so still, so open, that the Divine can speak through us. A word of comfort given at the right time. An inner knowing of when to act or when to rest. A vision of possibility when everything seems broken.
Silence teaches us to listen, not only to God, but to one another. And when we truly listen, we become vessels of peace instead of noise, of blessing instead of fear.
The great Mystics teach that any speech that creates duality or division is returned to us with harsh judgment, for words are not just sounds, they are vessels of creation. To speak carelessly is to scatter sparks of ourselves into chaos. The practice of silence trains us to choose words that are whole, words that heal instead of harm. This does not mean we must agree with every idea or perspective. It means our words should be woven with respect, carrying the intention to build rather than to break.
This is why the practice of silence matters so much for us now. In a world saturated with noise, distraction, and urgency, silence becomes a radical act of healing. It is the womb of stillness where true words are gestated, where seeds of light take root before they are spoken into form. Silence returns us to our inner sanctuary, clears away illusion, and reminds us that we are never separate, we are always held in the embrace of the Eternal Source of Love. Without silence, we cannot hear the delicate whisper of the Spirit within us. But with silence, we learn to live aligned, with clarity, wisdom, and faith.
This is the secret Yeshua and Magdalene embodied. Their words carried the power to heal, awaken, and transform because those words were first born in silence, in union with Source. They remind us that silence is the bridal chamber of the soul, where union gives birth to living words.
This Shabbat, I invite you to rest in silence for a few minutes. Breathe gently, soften your heart, and listen. In that silence, you may feel the presence of Yeshua and Magdalene, reminding you that the Divine Light is always near, waiting for us to create enough space to let it in.
Stillness is the beginning. Prophecy is the fruit. Love is the transmission.
A beautiful Aramaic Mantra for us to practice today is:
Shlama Amkhun (Peace be with you.)
Chanting Shlama Amkhun is like placing a lamp in a darkened room. Suddenly, all things are seen in their true colours and harmonised.
This week 2 beautiful experiences opened their Temple Doors.
The Frame Drum and Voice Pilgrimage
This course is designed for beginner and intermediate lovers of the Frame Drum who wish to deepen their practice. Together, we will explore how to weave voice with drumming, learning to create your own chants as well as to hold drumming and voice ceremonies. You will also be guided through ancient and sacred chants in Aramaic and Biblical Hebrew, entering their vibrational depth. To root rhythm in the body, we will integrate Flamenco footwork and movement, embodying rhythm as a living technology of prayer, expression, and transformation. CLICK HERE

These are the final days before the New Lunar Year, known as Rosh Hashana. This is a sacred threshold, a time charged with immense spiritual importance. In these days, we are invited to walk with mindfulness, to practice compassion, and to repair whatever still calls for healing from the year that is closing. The way we complete a lunar year carries even greater weight than how we begin it, for the ending seals the energy we carry forward into the new cycle.
Sending so much love to all of you.
Wishing you a blessed Shabbat.
AHAVA,
Ana Otero
