Before entering this world, your soul chose a name carrying the sacred codes of your incarnation. A name that would be spoken into the world, carried upon the breath of others, and recognized by you as your own. When someone calls your name, you instinctively turn toward the sound. Yet have you ever contemplated the mystery of that recognition? What is it within you that responds to a particular vibration, that knows itself through a sequence of sounds?
Our name is more than an earthly identity. It is a sacred sound through which the soul announces its presence in the world of matter. The invisible becomes audible. What was held within the mystery of the soul is given a vibration that can be spoken, heard, and received upon the Earth. And perhaps the deeper initiation begins when we no longer hear our name merely as something others call us, but begin to listen for what our own soul is calling us to become. Can we hear the sacred codes of our incarnation awakening within the sound of our name?
This is a beautiful mystery to contemplate beneath the Full Moon in Taurus. Taurus is associated with the throat, the voice, the physical senses, and the fertile abundance of the Earth. It invites us to recognize that sound is not separate from matter. Our voices arise through the body; our breath gives vibration its expression. Every word we speak enters the physical world, touching the space around us. And so our name becomes a doorway into a much greater revelation: we have come into incarnation to give expression to what was once invisible.
To come to know our own sound, to truly recognize the vibration of our being, is a profound mystical experience. It brings us into the mystery of Enā nā, the Aramaic expression of “I am” that we encounter in the words of Yeshua. Within the Magdalene–Christos Mystery, we can contemplate this declaration as something even more intimate: I am here. I am incarnate. My soul has become flesh. I am the Word made flesh. Our humanity is not something to transcend or overcome, but the sacred form through which our eternal nature finds expression. To honor our body, our voice, and our earthly existence is to honor the mystery of the Divine taking form within us.
And just as we carry our own sacred vibration, the Earth has her own voice. She, too, sings the mystery of her existence. We hear her through the movement of the oceans, the songs of birds, the wind passing through the trees, the rustling of leaves, and the rhythms of the living world. But are we truly listening? Can we recognize the Earth through her sound, just as we recognize ourselves when our own name is spoken? Perhaps communion with the Earth begins when we learn to listen to her not as something separate from us, but as the living sanctuary with which our incarnation is intimately woven. We have come to give voice to the Sacred, and we have come to hear the Sacred singing through creation.
Under the light of this Full Moon in Taurus, and as we prepare to go into Samhain, I invite you to speak your name aloud. Listen to its vibration and feel it moving through your body. Then become still and listen to the sounds of the Earth around you. Allow your own presence and the living presence of creation to meet within the silence of your Heart. Place your hands upon your Heart, feel the Earth beneath your feet, and repeat slowly:
I consecrate my incarnation.
I withdraw my consent from every belief that has made my body unholy, the Earth separate from Heaven, or my human life less sacred than my eternal nature.
I reclaim the holiness of being here.
