New Moon in Cancer
The Mystical Gates of Tammuz
As the New Moon enters the nurturing waters of Cancer, we are welcomed into the month of Tammuz, a sacred portal in the Aramaic – Hebrew calendar aligned with the depths of emotion, the feminine waters of the soul, and the stirrings of new creation. In Kabbalistic time, Tammuz is a portal into the cosmic womb of Binah, the Sefirah of the Great Mother, Immah Illah, where divine intelligence merges with the sacred design of life.
In this month, it is said that souls begin to prepare for incarnation. In the upper worlds, within the womb of Binah, the sparks of new souls rest, gestate, and await their descent through the spiritual realms toward embodiment. This is the pre-conception realm, where the codes of divine purpose are encrypted within each soul by the Cosmic Mother herself. And we, as embodied humans, can align with these soul codes during the New Moon of Tammuz.
The month of Tammuz – Cancer is also a time of heightened light. Energetically, it follows the solstice and offers us the most spiritual illumination of the year. But this light is not external. It is the light that exposes the shadows, the concealed inner landscapes that beg to be transmuted and rebirthed.
This is the time to deepen our sexual-creative purification. Cancer, ruled by the Moon, governs the womb, the breasts, the tides, and our ancient emotional memory. This month offers us the opportunity to strengthen our creative sexual energy, to cleanse it, sanctify it, and prepare it for divine service. Our sexuality is the river through which Shekhinah flows.
Mary Magdalene in the Cave becomes our archetype and guide this month. Her retreat into the cave in France after the resurrection of Yeshua was not exile, it was sacred incubation. There she became the living vessel of the Holy Womb teachings, the priestess of purification and transfiguration. The cave is Binah. It is where darkness births illumination.
On the Tree of Life Template, this lunar month activates the River Jordan, the sacred threshold between one world and the next. It is the river of crossing, of transformation, and of emergence. Spiritually, the River Jordan is a power spot of the earth aligned with Tammuz. It flows with the codes of initiation, descent, and return.
As we cross into Tammuz under this Cancer New Moon, we are invited to:
- Enter the cave within.
- Listen to the voice of the Cosmic Mother.
- Purify and elevate our creative sexual energy.
- Attune to the souls preparing to incarnate.
- Cross the inner Jordan into deeper spiritual maturity.
